Being Grateful for Where You Are

One of my biggest downfalls is not appreciating how far I have come in my life. I am so focused on moving forward that I often lose sight of how much I have accomplished. I always say in order to get more out of or life you must appreciate what you already have, or in this case have achieved.

I have a feeling that I am not alone in this. In fact, it seems like we are programed our whole lives to look forward to whatโ€™s coming next. From a young age we canโ€™t wait to get older. When we are in our teens we are so excited to turn 16 so we can begin to drive car ๐Ÿš˜ and then 18 so we can become adults. We get excited to turn 21 because it opens up doors that were once closed. ๐Ÿบ We canโ€™t wait to get married, ๐Ÿ‘ฐ ๐Ÿคต and eventually retire. ๐ŸŒ๏ธ We often forget to be present and happy exactly where we are.

Today I encourage you to take some time and really think about how far you have come. Perhaps, you are raising or have raised wonderful children. ๐Ÿ‘ถ Maybe, you have worked really hard to put yourself through school. ๐ŸŽ“ Or have become independent and are taking care of yourself. No matter where you are in life, take just a moment to be grateful for how far you have come.

๐Ÿ– Much Love,

Simply BrandiOlson
